Action Pathways Inc: A non-emergency program and their wait list could be up to 1-year for repairs and up to 2-years for installing a new air or heating unit. Offers weatherization program involves conducting an energy assessment to identify the most cost effective energy improvements that need to be performed on a dwelling, and then making the improvements at no cost to the household. The program is designed to help those who meet federally outlined income requirements in conserving energy and therefore enabling them to better cope with fuel cost increases and other household expenses. NCDHHS Crisis Intervention Program: Individuals and families experiencing a heating or cooling related crisis may apply for assistance through the Crisis Intervention Program (CIP). Applicants can complete a CIP application by mail, email, fax or drop-off at their local DSS. A face-to-face interview is not required at this time. In addition, disconnect notices are not required at this time. Purple Heart Homes Housing Assistance, Veterans Aging In Place: Our mission is to provide peace of mind and higher quality of life to Veterans of all eras. Veterans Aging in Place is for Purple Heart Homes Qualified Service-Connected Disabled Veterans who currently own a home that no longer meets their physical needs. Purple Heart Homes partners with local volunteers in the community with the intent of restoring dignity and quality of life by creating a safe, barrier-free living environment.
